Kennesaw, November 25, 2013 ─ VJI President and CEO Valerie H. Jordan was invited to attend the SEATA Industry Council 2013 Fall Meeting held in Atlanta on November 7. Council members who attended the meeting are primarily tax managers for various businesses and tax consultants. During the meeting, important decisions were made by the Executive Committee with discussion and input from attending Council members. The highlight of the meeting was a roundtable discussion with the Department of Revenue Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, or Deputy Commissioners from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. During the roundtable, 10 questions were posed to and answered by each Department of Revenue representative.
After the meeting, a reception and dinner were held for attendees. “Before the meeting, I was able to talk to some friends, acquaintances, and industry contacts I have come to know during my career,” say Jordan. “During dinner, I sat next to the Louisiana DOR Commissioner, with whom I had a pleasant conversation. While we were finishing our meal, another Commissioner I know came by the table to say ‘Hello’ before he left for the evening. I enjoyed the Fall Meeting this year and look forward to seeing more industry friends at the 2014 Annual Meeting to be held in Point Clear, Alabama next July.”
