Kennesaw, December 17, 2014 ― VJI staff recently joined for a year-end breakfast followed by a meeting and volunteer bag lunch project. The morning get-together was held at the local First Watch Daytime Café, which recently opened near VJI’s Kennesaw office. For most employees, it was the first visit to the eatery, which has more than 100 locations in 13 states. The VJI consensus was that more visits on meeting days would definitely be in order.
At the staff meeting that followed breakfast, VJI’s staff leaders reported on 2014 company results. President and CEO Valerie Jordan expressed she was happy with acquiring many new clients including several large companies with multiple locations. “We look forward to completing many more projects with these clients, whose facilities are spread across the country,” she remarked. Plans and goals for 2015 were also presented. “Our theme for next year is continued growth in our client base and continued improvement in our processes and client satisfaction,” says Jordan. “Our goal is to understand what is valuable to our clients and then ensure that our services give them more than what they expect.”
To close the day, the staff joined in to pack lunch bags for Cure Childhood Cancer, a 40-year-old nonprofit that funds childhood cancer research and supports patients and their families. The lunches are given to a patient’s caretaker when he or she isn’t able to leave their child’s bedside. Providing a touch of home and some nourishment, the meals help those who lend children emotional support during lengthy hospital stays. “Cure Childhood Cancer is a great organization, and we were more than happy to lend a hand with their lunch program,” says Client Development Coordinator Courtney O’Connor. “It was also a lot of fun. We’re already considering doing more to help them in the future,” O’Connor says.
