Commissioner and Governor

Kennesaw, GA — April 29, 2015. VJI’s Client Development Manager Courtney Cole and Senior Tax Consultant Matt Scott attended the 2015 Printing and Imaging Financial Executive (PIFE) Conference on April 12-14 at the Marriott City Center in Minneapolis. VJI was a sponsor at the event, which was held in conjunction with the Printing Industries of America’s Continuous Improvement Conference. Both events included companies within the binding and printing industries.

“VJI was busy at this year’s conference,” says Cole. “As an event sponsor, we set up a table in the vendor area to greet the conference attendees and introduce them to VJI. This was our second year at the PIFE conference, so it was a pleasure seeing contacts from last year’s conference and meeting new people this year.”

Matt Scott was active as a guest speaker at a breakout session entitled Ecommerce, Sales Taxes, and Nexus. The session provided an open forum for financial executives to ask questions and get more information on current issues within the state and local tax arena. “Our panel discussed topics such as unexpected ways that sales and use tax nexus can be triggered, the Marketplace Fairness Act, and ways to reduce audit assessments,” remarks Scott. “The dramatic growth of ecommerce has caught the attention of many states that want to increase tax revenues by tapping into Web portals. Our panel discussed how businesses can comply with the complex nexus rules generated by this new trend,” says Scott.
