Kennesaw, August 21, 2014 ─ VJI staff once again supported this year’s 4th Annual Miles-4-Major 5K Race that was held on August 9 in Marietta, Georgia. Non-profit Miles-4-Major raises awareness and financial support for families with young children who need hearing aids.
For V Jordan Inc.’s senior tax consultant, Chris Wiggins, the annual race is a very special event. “Five years ago my nephew, Major Bultman, was born with serious birth defects that required a year of corrective surgeries. However, restoring his hearing was quite difficult.”
“Believe it or not, there are health plans that don’t reimburse for buying expensive hearing aids and replacement batteries,” says Wiggins. “It’s difficult for low-income families to buy these items for their children, which have to be replaced as their children grow up.”
“VJI is once again happy to be a sponsor of this event,” says CEO and President Valerie Jordan. “Our new business development coordinator Courtney O’Connor ran in the race that Chris and his family helped organize. I had the privilege of working at the registration table before the race. We are all inspired to see how a grass-roots organization can grow to do great things for the local community.”
