Kennesaw, February 5, 2014 ─ VJI’s Controller, Victoria Sheridan, is all smiles at the office these days. Her 17-year-old son, William, committed to his college choice at the 2014 National Collegiate Signing Day ceremony held at Northside-Cherokee Hospital Conference Center in Canton on February 5. Among the 23 signees from Woodstock’s Etowah High School, the young Sheridan is excited about playing lacrosse at Wingate University, a private school near Charlotte, North Carolina. Sheridan played as a goalie on his varsity team for four years, earning him the privileged team captain pick for the 2014 season. His beaming mother looks forward to seeing Sheridan play in the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Conference. “Will is a talented player who’s taken a lot of lumps while standing in the crease,” says his justly proud mom, who watched him grow into becoming an exceptional goalie in the last three years. “After going through the recruiting process for months and then the signing ceremony, I’m relieved that Will is going to be playing at a good school near home this fall. I’m sure he’ll save his fair share of goals as the man between the pipes on the Wingate Bulldog’s men’s lacrosse team.”
