Kennesaw, December 14, 2015 ─ VJI President and CEO Valerie Jordan attended the SEATA Fall 2015 Industry Council Meeting held in Atlanta, Georgia on November 5, 2015. This meeting allows attendees to interact formally and informally with tax representatives from member states, including state tax commissioners who take part in a roundtable discussion.
“I’ve been a member of the SEATA Industry Council for many years,” says Jordan. “I always look forward to these meetings, which give me an opportunity to have conversations with state tax representatives and commissioners and to learn about current topical interests of the other council members.”
Along with general discussions about tax compliance, legislation, technology, and economics, some of the topics that were discussed included third-party outsourcing, cloud computing, and fraud detection. “Many of the subjects that were discussed at this meeting will have an impact on tax compliance for our manufacturing clients in the future,” says Jordan. “I encourage everyone who’s interested in who I met and what I learned to contact me for me details.”
