Kennesaw, February 20, 2018 ― VJI’s Client Development Manager, Courtney Cole had the opportunity to attend a lunch and plant tour at Delta TechOps hosted by Georgia Manufacturing Alliance. Delta TechOps is a division of Delta Airlines with over 9,600 employees and is the largest airline MRO in North America and third largest worldwide. Located in the heart of Atlanta, Delta TechOps provides full-service aviation maintenance to Delta and services its fleet of more than 750 aircrafts. The facility covers 2.7 million square feet and features state-of-the-art design, so it can be devoted to airframe maintenance, aircraft engine maintenance, and component maintenance all under one roof. “It was amazing to see all the different components that make up just one engine. I was also very surprised to learn about the cost for different parts of the plane,” says Cole. The tour guides allowed GMA members to go up into a Delta airplane that was undergoing general maintenance. “My favorite part was sitting in the cockpit and seeing all the different buttons and handles the pilot is responsible for while up in the air,” says Cole. The tour wrapped up with a question and answer session followed by an opportunity to network with other GMA members.
