Kennesaw, March 10, 2017 – V Jordan Inc. President, Valerie Jordan attended the March 2017 Cobb Executive Women’s (CEW) Luncheon and networking event on Friday, March 10, 2017. The guest speaker was Caroline Duffy, Founding partner at Jackson Spalding, an integrated marketing communications firm.
Ms. Duffy’s presentation was titled “Building Leaders. The Power of Internal Mentoring Programs.” Ms. Duffy shared the evolution of Jackson Spalding’s mentoring program from its inception to today’s formal program. She outlined the benefits of a formal mentoring program and stressed how the program lends towards a company’s culture. The formal program has spawned new groups and programs internally at Jackson Spalding. These programs not only help define the culture of an organization but also positively impact employee engagement, growth, and retention.
Ms. Jordan stated “While listening to Ms. Duffy’s presentation I realized that VJI is practicing many of the mentoring suggestions for new employees and new managers within our organization. We just have been doing it more out of instinct instead of as part of a formalized process.” Ms. Jordan plans to implement a more structured mentoring program at V Jordan Inc.
