Kennesaw, January 13, 2017 ─ Valerie Jordan, President, V Jordan Inc. (VJI) attended a 2017 kick-off luncheon at the Georgian Club for the members of Cobb Executive Women (CEW). Judge Mary Staley Clark, the Judge for Cobb County Georgia Superior Court’s Mental Health Court was the guest speaker for the luncheon.
A mental health court is an accountability court that represents an effort to increase effective cooperation between two systems that have traditionally not worked closely together – The Mental Health System and The Criminal Justice System. Cobb’s mental health court is a voluntary and treatment-based 24 month minimum program that is judicially supervised. It is for individuals with a documented mental health diagnosis. The Cobb County Mental Health Court strives to improve mental health, promotes self-sufficiency and offers a cost effective alternative to incarceration and hospitalization. The program holds participants accountable while assisting them in becoming a stable and successful family and community member.
