Kennesaw, July 7, 2016 ― VJI Client Development Manager Courtney Cole attended the Cobb Young Professionals Public Safety Workshop at the Cobb County Safety Village in Marietta on July 7. There are only 20 safety villages within the United States and Cobb County is the only such village in Georgia. Established in 2009, the 8-acre village provides hands-on safety education to children grades K-12, and has an average of 22,000 students pass through it each school year. Safety education classes are also held for senior citizens to attend.
“Major Jeff Adcock out of Precinct 3, Lieutenant Steve Dau from Marietta Fire Department, and Devan Seabaugh from MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service were the featured speakers at the workshop” says Cole. “They provided suggestions on how to incorporate safety in the workplace and how to handle emergencies when they arise. It’s comforting to know that VJI has taken proper steps for safety in the workplace ―from having an active monitoring system to having an employee information list with valuable information to provide paramedics in the case of emergencies,“ explained Cole.” A tour of the safety village was completed to conclude the workshop.
