Kennesaw, February 5, 2014 ─ Valerie Jordan, President and CEO of V Jordan, Inc., attended the January 10, 2014 Cobb Executive Women Luncheon held at The Georgian Club in Atlanta. Guest speaker at the event was Becky Blalock, retired senior VP and CIO of Southern Company, who delivered her inspiring message based on the 33-year-long climb to her coveted position at the Fortune 500 utility company. “Women need to be more open to new opportunities,” said Blalock. Reflecting on the title of her book, Dare: Straight Talk on Confidence, Courage, and Career for Women in Charge, Blalock encouraged attendees “To take more risks and to say ‘Yes’ even when unsure. Women need to dare.” Jordan had the opportunity to meet and briefly speak with Ms. Blalock after the luncheon. “I enjoyed the luncheon and hearing the experiences shared by Becky. Afterward, I was able to talk to her about similar experiences I had in starting two companies. It was a pleasure meeting her and I’m so happy that the Cobb Chamber sponsors these events for local businesswomen.:
