Kennesaw, March 24, 2014 ─ VJI’s Client Development Coordinator Courtney O’Connor and Junior Tax Consultant Melissa Phillips attended the Printing and Imaging Association of Georgia’s (PIAG) Spring Mix & Mingle event held in Smyrna on March 20. The gathering was held to offer networking opportunities extended to more than 600 PIAG members to meet for food and drink.
“We enjoyed connecting with some of our clients at the Mix & Mingle event,” says Phillips. “Our friends in the printing and imaging industry are dear to us and we take every opportunity to get together with them to chat and discuss some of the challenges they face in their businesses.”
Commenting on conversations she had with some fellow members, O’Connor says “When I mentioned that we are a national company that serves a wide variety of industries, I got the feeling that they were surprised and impressed. VJI’s clients are in nearly every state and we provide our services to many industries. We take advantage of today’s digital information and communication technologies to keep abreast of tax laws and stay in touch with everyone who becomes involved in resolving our client’s issues no matter where they’re located.”
Linotype: The Film, a feature-length documentary about the Linotype type casting machine, was also screened at the event. The film tells the story of people connected to the Linotype and how the technology completely transformed communication in the same way that the Internet is changing communication today.
O’Connor notes that the printing industry has seen huge changes in the last few decades as computer-driven technologies are replacing older print methods. “We understand that it’s a challenge to stay on top of the new digital print technologies in order to survive in a highly competitive industry. VJI does its part by staying on top of rapidly changing tax laws so that our printing industry clients have fewer problems to worry about. However, when we talk to PIAG members at these get-togethers, we agree with them on one important point: providing high-quality personal service in our businesses is critical to long-term survival no matter what new technologies come along.”
