Kennesaw, April 11, 2014 ─ VJI President and CEO Valerie Jordan and Business Development Coordinator Courtney O’Connor traveled to Dallas, Texas last week to attend the 2014 Printing Industries Financial Executives (PIFE) Spring Conference. The PIFE conferences are held to give printing industry financial executives opportunities to discover money-saving ideas, to learn about investments that could increase business, and to understand the current marketplace. Each conference has expert keynote speakers and breakout sessions that provide industry-specific financial information.
“The PIFE conferences are held in conjunction with the Binding Industries Association (BIA) Annual Conference and the Continuous Improvement Conference for the printing and packaging industries,” says Jordan. “We took this opportunity to hear the concerns expressed by printing and packaging finance managers and to see how solutions for their needs are evolving in this rapidly-changing industry.”
Jordan and O’Connor attended several keynote addresses, some breakout sessions, and a peer exchange. “We were excited that we were able to see and hear Jeff Ekstein from the Willow Printing Group make a brief presentation at the meeting. We met him in Atlanta at a PIAG meeting earlier this year. He’s very active in the printing industry and is committed to improving its future,” says O’Connor. “I also enjoyed the inspirational message shared by Anthony Griggs, the former NFL linebacker and player director. He discussed how he applies what he learned as a player, coach, and martial arts student in business. I was impressed how he related business success to sports with six important ideas: skill, endurance, speed, conditioning, diet and rest.”
“Attending this year’s PIFE conference allowed us to learn more about the financial issues facing some of our most important clients. As a specialized service provider that recovers money and helps improve accounting practices, we have returned from Dallas with a fuller understanding of and a deeper commitment to our printing and packaging clients,” says Jordan. “We appreciate the effort of all those who organized this complex event at which we were able to network with other attendees. Hopefully, we will be seeing them again at future conferences.”
